SAA COMMUNITY FORUM, AGM, AND SPEAK UP: A CALL TO ACTION PANEL DISCUSSION
Join us at our Annual General Meeting and Community Forum. This event is a great opportunity to network with other artists and arts organizations. It is also an opportunity to express your thoughts on the issues that matter most to help our Board of Directors shape our future initiatives.

11 AM | Saturday, September 21, 2013 | The Refinery | 609 Dufferin Avenue |Saskatoon, SK

The forum begins at 11:00 am followed by a catered lunch and the AGM. Following the AGM the SAA will be hosting a panel discussion entitled Speak Up: A Call to Action. The panel will feature panelists discussing their successes with advocacy and sharing tips on speaking to elected officials. Please RSVP to help us plan for catering.

A CALL TO CREATE: MANIFESTO WORKSHOP WITH PATRICK CLOSE
In partnership with the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild, the SAA presents A Call to Create: Manifesto Workshop with Patrick Close on September 27th at 7 pm. as part of Culture Days. This workshop will gather a small group of individuals to explore some examples from history, discuss the concepts of advocacy and intentionality, and to create and share our own manifesti. 

The SWG and SAA will provide paper, pens, and markers; participants should bring any materials or media not provided that they might need to express their manifesto. The SWG and SAA will be printing the manifesti! Participation limited to 12. For more information, please visit the Culture Days website. FINAL BOARD MEMBERS OF CREATIVE SASKATCHEWAN ANNOUNCED
The final five board members for Creative Saskatchewan have been confirmed as Caroline Walker, Saskatoon; Rick Krieger, Regina; Bruce Willis, Regina; Patrick Close, Regina, and Susan Whitney, Regina.

Mike MacNaughton from Regina is the Chairperson. The other board members include: Jocelyne Wasacase-Merasty, Meadow Lake; Cory Furman, Regina; Valerie Creighton, Stoughton; Rick Peddle, Saskatoon; and Jocelyne Kost, Saskatoon.



   

CALL TO ACTION: PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR CNAL/RCCA SURVEY
Canadian Network for arts and Learning (CNAL/RCCA) recently obtained funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to conduct a study that will result in a profile of arts-in-learning activities and needs in Ontario and beyond.

As part of this study, CNAL/RCCA requires volunteers to participants in a survey. There are three surveys to choose from, one for artists, one for arts organizations and the educational sector, and one for arts funders. Please choose the most appropriate link for you from the list below.

 The results of this study will be presented at the CNAL/RCAA Founder’s Symposium at Queen’s University, Kingston, October 23 – 25, 2013. (All are welcome to attend.)
