KELLY HILL TO PRESENT ON THE STATE OF SASKATCHEWAN’S ARTS SECTOR
The SAA is pleased to announce that Kelly Hill, President and Founder of Hill Strategies Research Inc. will present on the arts sector (including the cultural industries) in Saskatchewan with analysis of current information, comparison of Saskatchewan data to Canada, and projected trends. This event will include focus groups on the Arts Ecology project. The event will be on March 2nd in Regina.

SAA LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE AND OP-ED/LIVING THE ARTS
The SAA is excited to announce the launch of our new website!  The new website offers a contemporary look and streamlined user experience. We ask our member organizations to submit images of their upcoming or recently past events. The selected images will be showcased on our home page with a brief caption describing the event and organization. 

The Op-Ed/Living the Arts electronic articles will be a chance for us to examine issues facing the arts in Saskatchewan. We will be soliciting artists, officials, administrators and academics for two kinds of perspectives that we call “Op-Ed” and “Living the Arts.” “Op-Ed” pieces will elaborate and comment on arts policies, initiatives and milieu. “Living the Arts” will feature personal accounts of the distinct challenges faced by artists. We hope it will invite comment and discussion and look forward to posting thoughtful and attributed responses to the views expressed. We encourage your readership and participation.

SAA TO HOLD COMMUNITY MEETINGS THROUGHOUT PROVINCE
The SAA will be holding community meetings, advocacy workshops, and button bees throughout the province. By meeting people who are involved in making arts and culture happen in Saskatchewan, we get a clearer picture of where we should be focussing our efforts, we learn about the challenges and successes in each community and we have the opportunity to let people know what the SAA does. ARTS AND HERITAGE IN CANADA: ACCESS AND AVAILABILITY SURVEY 2012
The Department of Canadian Heritage commissioned Phoenix SPI to conduct research related to the arts and heritage in Canada. The main objective was to gather information on Canadians’ attitudes towards an array of issues relating to behaviours and values associated with arts and heritage. An overwhelming majority of Canadians believe arts and culture is worthy of government support. Arts and heritage in Canada: access and availability survey 2012, final report.
