CREATIVE SASKATCHEWAN REGULATIONS PUBLISHED
The Saskatchewan Gazette has published the Creative Saskatchewan Regulations. The regulations – the guidelines of the Creative Saskatchewan Act – specify terms such as:

  • “eligible applicants” which include both corporations and individuals who meet the criteria
  • “eligible project” which must be suitable for commercial use in the industries listed and fulfill several criteria; for example, has demonstrable economic and cultural benefit to Saskatchewan.

Financial assistance is in the form of grants, loans or equity investments. The regulations state the information that must be included in applications. They also set out rules for nominations to the Board of Directors, equity investments, loans and other terms and conditions.

The maximum amount of financial assistance in a fiscal year is $250,000, although the Lieutenant Governor may approve a higher amount. As well, Creative Saskatchewan may establish one or more adjudication panels. You can find the full regulations at http://www.qp.gov.sk.ca/documents/gazette/part2/2013/G2201327.pdf.

COLLABORATION RESULTS IN 2013 GRANT DATABASE
Heritage Saskatchewan and the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport have collaborated resources to create a Resource and Funding Source Inventory Database. The data is current as of June 2013. The database is a listing of organizations that provide grants, purpose of the grant, eligibility requirements and much more.
