SAA Meets with Community, Introduces New Board of Directors

The Saskatchewan arts community came together on Saturday, September 24th, in a productive meeting with the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance (SAA). Issues around arts funding, advancing technology, arts data, and advocacy were discussed. SAA is pleased to introduce its 2016/2017 Board of Directors. Read more here.

SAA Meets with New Minister of Parks, Culture, and Sport

On behalf of its membership, SAA met with the Honourable Ken Cheveldayoff, Minister of Parks, Culture, and Sport. President Kelley Jo Burke, fellow board member Dr. Kathryn Ricketts, and Executive Director Marnie Gladwell emphasized the value of the arts to the province, the importance of arts organizations and the pressures they face, as well as SAA’s four key points.

When asked what our members should know about the new minister, Hon. Cheveldayoff asked that people be understanding. While ideas will be given the attention they need, dollars are tight. Government sees arts as an investment and it understands the return on that investment both on quality of life and the economy. He will go to bat for us.
