You’re Invited: Arts and Learning “Hub”

You and your colleagues are invited to the Canadian Network for Arts and Learning (CNAL) “hub” held in Regina on Tuesday, March 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The hub is for anyone involved in arts and learning – artists, arts educators, academics, researchers and arts organizations.

The Hub is free, and a light supper will be provided. To help with catering numbers, please register here.

The Hub is presented by the Canadian Network for Arts and Learning in partnership with the Sask. Arts Alliance and the University of Regina. It will include sessions on “Artful Practices on Storytelling” and also help CNAL with its research study to reenergize UNESCO’s goals for the development of arts education (the SEOUL Agenda.) ?To see the full program.

?2017 Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts.

The Canada Council for the Arts announced the winners of the 2017 Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts. The awards carry a $25,000 cash prize and recognize outstanding career achievement. They are funded and administered by the Canada Council for the Arts, and include categories for artistic achievement in visual and media arts, fine craft and outstanding contribution. Canada Dance Mapping Results

The Canada Dance Mapping Study resulted in three major online initiatives that are interactive and present some of the findings in innovative ways! All the reports and initiatives are now available on one page. The Dance Across Canada Study was the first of its kind — the only to include both the professional dance sector and a full range of dance activities outside of the professional field.


Updated Community Initiative Fund Guidelines – Effective Immediately

If you are applying for CIF’s Community Grant Program this April 1, 2017, you must follow the updated guidelines. CIF’s guidelines have been updated to improve clarity on what is eligible under CIF’s Community Grant Program. Before completing your grant application, you are strongly encouraged to read the updated guidelines to ensure your expenses are eligible. For more information.

PAVED Arts has an opening for the position of Technical Coordinator. This is a full time position (35 hours per week). Cameco Creative Kids Northern Cultural Fund Accepting Applications

The Cameco Creative Kids Northern Cultural Fund is now accepting applications for creative programs for children and youth ages 4 to 19 in Northern communities that address the cultural, creative or artistic needs of their community, up to a maximum of $7,500. The deadline to apply is March 15; please visit the Creative Kids website for the guidelines and application.


Lieutenant Governor’s Heritage Awards for 2017: Call for Nominations

Heritage Saskatchewan is hosting the 2017 Lieutenant Governor’s Heritage Awards. The event will take place at Government House on June 14th and will be presented by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, Her Honour the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield. This annual event recognizes the dedication of building owners, the wisdom and skill of designers and the exceptional achievements of local craftspeople, all of whom contribute to the preservation of Saskatchewan’s architectural heritage. Deadline for Submissions is March 31, 2017.

?Sobey Art Award 2017 – Call for Nominations

The 2017 Sobey Art Award is seeking nominations. The Awards is an annual prize given to a Canadian artist age 40 or under who has exhibited in a public or commercial art gallery within 18 months of being nominated. Agents and institutions have until March 3, 2017, to submit artist nominations. A $50,000 prize will be awarded to the winner, along with $10,000 prizes for the short listed artists and $500 prize to each of the remaining long listed artists. To read more.

Nominees Announced for the 46th Annual Juno Awards

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced the nominees for the 46th Annual JUNO Awards. JUNO Week 2017 will be hosted in Ottawa from March 27 through April 2, 2017, and a live broadcast of The 2017 JUNO Awards will air on CTV and CTV GO on Sunday, April 2 from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.
