2012 ARTS CONGRESS COMES TO REGINA IN MAY
The next Congress will be on May 4-5 at the Artesian on 13th. We invite members who are interested in helping to plan the Congress to contact the office.

SEARCH ON FOR COMMUNICATIONS – OUTREACH OFFICER
SAA seeks a Communications – Outreach Officer to help guide internal and external communication strategies as well as outreach initiatives in support of SAA programs and services. A job description of this full-time position is available here. The deadline for receipt of applications is December 21, 2011. Outgoing officer David Sereda will be relocating to Ontario, but will miss the creative scene in Saskatchewan and looks forward to keeping in touch.

CAN WE QUOTE YOU ON THAT? A WINTER (BRAIN)STORM IS COMING
Winter is here and we’re calling on you to join a new brainstorm. Over the next few months, we are collecting arts-related quotations and we’d like to hear your favourites. Or you may want to share a personal “arts aha moment” story: a reflection on how the arts have affected you and your community. We plan to use these in our new website to reflect the power and impact of artistic activity across our province and beyond. This is also a way for artists, cultural workers and organizations across Saskatchewan to pool an invaluable resource: our combined experience. One of the best ways to advocate for the arts is to tell a personal story. We invite you to share these with us: email your submissions (with arts quote or arts reflection in the subject heading) to info@artsalliance.sk.ca or post them on our SAA facebook page where your contribution can inspire, provoke or amuse us. (And if you’re on facebook, have you joined our page yet?) Join our quote-storm, and keep your brain warm!

FEEDBACK WELCOME ON NEW DOOR STEP KITS AND MATERIALS
The SAA prepared materials to raise awareness this fall about the important role of the arts in our province. A door step kit was sent out before the election, with facts about the arts and artistic activity in Saskatchewan and Canada, as well as arts-related questions pertaining to candidates’ personal views. In addition, we distributed a range of stickers, decals and buttons which we hope will help you raise awareness and visibility of the arts every day. We’d like to know if these were useful to you, and we will be contacting you soon for your feedback. Feel free to call or email with your comments, and if you’d like to replenish your supply of these materials we’ll be happy to send you more.

SEASON’S GREETINGS AND HOLIDAY HOURS
The office will close at noon on Friday, December 23 and reopen in the New Year on Monday, January 9.
The staff and board of the SAA wish you a happy and healthy holiday season and we look forward to working with you in the New Year.

Do make sure that you have our new address. We are still getting forwarded mail from our old address and we want to keep in touch. We are at 1150 – 8th Avenue, Suite 101, Regina, SK S4R 1C9
