Workshop Leader: Brenda Niskala 14 pm. at the SWG/SAA Board Room, 100-1150 8th Ave. 
Brenda Niskala makes her home in Regina. She currently works in the cultural industries. Most recently she has published poetry, How to Be a River, (Wild Sage Press, 2012 and 2013), the linked short story collection For the Love of Strangers (Coteau Books, 2010), which was shortlisted for a Saskatchewan Book Award and top of the votes for the CBC Summer Reading list that year, and a novella, Of All the Ways to Die (Quattro, 2009). She is now working on her next (well, first) novel, which will introduce the pirating adventures of a Viking ship in about 1065.

Workshop Leader: Madeline Blais-Dahlem | 1-4 pm. at Paved Arts 424 20 St W.
Madeleine Blais-Dahlem is an award-winning Saskatchewan playwright who writes in both French and English.  She has a particular interest in “persuasive language”, first as a high school debate coach for 23 years, and then as President of the Board for La Troupe du Jour. She has studied writing with Maria Campbell, David Carpenter, Sharon Pollock, Daniel David Moses and Wendy Lill. She has been produced by la Troupe du Jour: Foyer (2005), Les vieux pèteux (2008) and La Maculée (2011).  Her English translation of La maculée: sTain has been anthologized in New Canadian Realisms.
