2008 ARTS CONGRESS: VALUING THE ARTS

May 2nd and 3rd

Wascana Centre, Regina

Valuing the Arts is the theme of the 2008 Arts Congress. Anyone with an interest in the arts is encouraged to attend, whether you are an artist, board member, patron or administrator. Program highlights include a talk from Poet Laureate Bob Currie, and the popular ?Stories from the Art,? in which Saskatchewan artists share stories about their lives and their work.

First Nations poet Lee Maracle is our featured luncheon speaker on Saturday, May 3rd. This talk, which will touch on arts and advocacy, promises to be enticing and captivating.

SAA is especially pleased to announce that the Honourable Christine Tell, Minister of Tourism, Parks, Culture, and Sport will speak on Friday evening. SAA is delighted to be able to share the opportunity to hear Minister Tell discuss her vision for the arts.

Registration forms will be mailed out soon and also posted on the SAA website. Bursaries are available for professional artists to attend the Congress.
