IRELAND Poverty: Access and Participation in the Arts

Scope:

The Poverty: Access and Participation in the Arts Working Group was jointly established in the Spring of 1995 by the Irish Arts Council and the Combat Poverty Agency. Prior to its establishment, both agencies had become increasingly interested in access to the arts for people who live in poverty and experience disadvantage.

The Working Group’s report and recommendations provide a contribution to the key issues of how those affected by poverty and social exclusion can gain access to and participate in the arts.
